IQ Testim ("the App") respects the privacy of its users. This policy explains what data is processed while you use the App, how it is used and how it can be deleted.
IQ Testim processes data in the categories below. Most of it stays only on your device; what is sent to a server is listed separately further down.
Stored only on your device:
The Academy, Mistake Notebook, Weekly Program, Puzzle of the Day and widgets send no data to a server. Siri and Shortcuts actions only open the app on the relevant screen. If you share the Puzzle of the Day, the text does not contain the answer or the solution; sharing happens only through the system share sheet that you start yourself.
Optional — fields you enter on the profile screen:
None of these fields is required; every feature of the App works without filling in any of them. What you enter is stored only on your own device and is not sent to our servers.
The marketing consent on the profile screen is a separate choice: entering the details does not mean permitting their use for marketing. Consent is off by default, never pre-ticked, and unless you tick it your details are never used for marketing. You can withdraw it at any time on the same screen.
On accounts under 13 the profile screen never opens; these fields are neither asked for nor stored.
Sent to a server only if you choose to:
None of these features is required to use the tests and games.
Taking part in the leaderboard is optional and off by default. When you turn it on, only the display name you choose, your score and a randomly generated device identifier are sent. Turning it off stops new submissions; records already sent remain on the server.
Improving the measurement — a SEPARATE, independent choice:
The difficulty values of the questions are still being calibrated against real answer data; this makes results more accurate. There is a separate preference for this, also off by default. When you turn it on, the correct/wrong outcome for each question, the time spent, a rapid-guess flag and your score are sent together with your device identifier. YOUR DISPLAY NAME IS NOT SENT, and this data is never shown on any list or to any other user; it is used only in aggregate when computing question statistics.
Challenging a friend — a SEPARATE, independent choice:
Challenges are optional, off by default and switched on through a separate consent screen. When you create or complete a challenge, your leaderboard nickname (not your profile name; "Anonymous" if you have none), your score, the difficulty level, the IDs of the questions solved and your random device identifier are sent to the server. ANYONE who receives the challenge link can see that name and score, so be careful whom you share it with. Looking a challenge up by code sends only the code.
The three preferences are independent: you can turn on any of them, two of them or none. With all three off, no request about your test results is sent to the server at all. You can turn them off at any time in the settings; this only stops new submissions.
On accounts under 13 the leaderboard, measurement improvement and challenges can never be turned on.
All user data is stored primarily on the user’s device. Optional profile fields are also kept only on the local device and are never shown on the leaderboard or anywhere else visible to other users.
These optional details may be used, only with your explicit consent, for product development and marketing within IQ Testim’s own internal processes. They are not shared with or sold to third parties.
Data sent to the server (leaderboard, measurement improvement, challenges, notification token, Apple account details) is used for the App’s functions and for question statistics; it is not used for tracking or advertising. No retention period has been set for this data: it is kept on the server until you ask for it to be deleted (see 8. Deleting Your Data).

Those services are governed by their own privacy policies. Apart from them, no third-party service is used for advertising, analytics or tracking.
IQ Testim takes children’s safety seriously. The rules depend on the age the user states:
The App is built with the principles of Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) in mind. Optional profile fields are entered by the user and stored only on the device. Processing that information for marketing purposes requires separate, explicit consent, which is off by default and can be withdrawn at any time. Each feature that sends data to a server also depends on its own consent and can be turned off in the settings at any time.
Users have the right to learn whether their data is being processed, to request information about it, and to have it corrected, deleted or object to its processing. You can delete the data on your device instantly from the App settings; for data held on the server, you can send your request to the address below.
Data on your device:
Using "Delete all data" on the profile screen permanently removes your test history, profile details, profile photo, game scores and other local data. It also asks the server to delete your notification token; withdrawing notification permission removes the token from the server as well. Removing the App from your device also deletes all data held on it.
Data on the server:
Leaderboard, measurement-improvement and challenge records and Apple account details cannot be deleted from inside the App. To have them deleted, write to the address below; on your request we delete the records we can match to you. Because no automatic deletion period has been set, this data is kept unless you request deletion.
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be announced inside the App.
